Michelangelo PERGOLESI (active in London in the second half of the 18th century) "Study for a large ornamental vase with a mythological scene" Original etching from drawings by Pergolesi himself, published in the magnificent collection entitled "Ornaments" of which the Italian artist was also a publisher from 1777 to 1801. Beautiful copy dated in plate 1792, in the rare original edition, printed on laid paper bearing the watermark "Lily in Arms of Strasbourg with the letters LVG" Churchill 411, typical of English paper production of the second mid-18th century, with large margins beyond the imprint of the slab, slightly burnished and with other minimal defects at the edges but overall in excellent general condition. Bibliography: Benezit "Dictionnaire des Peintres ..."
